Before we can get into the details of embryonic stem cell research cons, we need to have a further understanding of what the embryonic stem cell research is all about. The stem cell research is the science of investigating the basics of stem cell such as adult stem cells that can be used in medical science. Adult stem cell differ from the embryonic stem cells since the embryonic stem cells have the ability to transform into other cells found in humans. This means that transforming the stem cells into needed cells to replace other damaged cells can be a possibility such as in the research field of bone marrow transplants.

Until only a short time ago the thought that embryonic stem cell where only available from aborted fetuses was the norm however today with the cloning research that has been done this is no longer the case. The embryonic stem cell research that is constantly in progress now uses a different kind of stem cell although technically the same only cloned or manufactured. A new fact is that there are now 72 different ways to clone a person without using a male or female to procreate. This is how far technology in cloning has taken us.

Ethical issues still stand in the way of fully funded embryonic research that causes delays in this area of science. The right for life association is one of the foundations that claim interfering with human life is not a productive activity and that playing god is not part of the bigger picture. The thought that using aborted fetuses was not ethical in many people eyes including most religions. These antagonists believed that the cons greatly outweighed the pros of embryonic stem cell research.
